How to grow watermelon ?

Growing watermelons requires warmth, space, and well-draining soil. Choose a sunny location with loose, sandy loam and a pH of 6.0–7.5. Plant seeds or seedlings in late spring when soil temperatures are consistently above 70°F (21°C). Space plants 3–5 feet apart in rows 6–8 feet apart. Water deeply and consistently, keeping the soil moist but not soggy, especially during flowering and fruiting. Mulch to retain moisture and control weeds. Fertilize with a balanced fertilizer, reducing nitrogen once fruits form. Avoid overhead watering to prevent disease. Harvest watermelons when the bottom turns yellow, and the vine near the fruit dries up.
